I love Monday mornings
No, I am not a freak.
Well, maybe just a little bit of one. I've only begun to love Mondays since I quit work to begin my career as a writer of fiction. (Wish me luck with that!) Mondays no longer signal the beginning of five days of seemingly-interminable hell sprinkled with moments of frustration, irritation and wheel-spinning.
Now, Mondays launch a brand new week. Seven days to do with almost exactly what I please. It's not that I can do exactly what I want at every instant, but there is more flexibility to my life now and, I believe, a little more sanity.Sure, I still have the demands of family and attempting to run a home with what is, granted, something less than panache but hopefully something more than ennuie. So, here it is... Monday morning in all it's potential. What am I going to do with it?
I have a meeting (still need to try to make some money while the creative work continues) then two appointments. One of these is with my doctor. You remember me writing about that mid-life stuff? I have been so damn tired lately and am not sure whether it has to do with my wonky thyroid, my inability to get a full night's sleep on a regular basis or anemia caused by getting my period every two weeks. (The friggin' joys if peri-menopause.)Let's hope the blood work I had done a week ago tells us something.
But after all that is done, I have time to write.
Writing is an interesting process. I finished the first book knowing that it wasn't something I was terribly proud of. But it was done. A whole book to my credit. Then I finished book two. It's a bit better than the first one. I've got it out with some friends to get their comments so I can re-draft then contact agents to see if anyone wants to take a chance on an unknown commodity. While various drafts of books one and two were underway, I had already begun my third and forth books. Now it's time for me to focus on book three. I think this one will be good. Actually good. I am excited to see what I can do with it.
Ah, it's time to get ready for the meeting.
Damn the practicalities of life!
